摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear train mechanism, a platen gap adjuster and a recorder in which the platen gap can be adjusted while taking account of the scale resolution, reduction ratio of the gear train, number of teeth of the gear train, and the like, and effect of the stationary angle error of a stepping motor can be minimized. SOLUTION: The gear train mechanism comprises an input gear 39A being driven by a stepping motor, transmission gears 38 and 38A, and an output gear 37 wherein the output gear 37 is coupled with a rotary encoder and the rotational speed of the output gear being rotated through the input gear and the transmission gears by driving the stepping motor is detected by means of the rotary encoder. In such a gear train mechanism, the number of phases and the number of poles of the stepping motor are set and the scale resolution of the rotary encoder is set and then the reduction ratio of the gear train from the input gear 39A to the output gear 37 is set based on the number of poles and the scale resolution such that one scale can be detected by one pulse.
