PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxially stretched polypropylene film suited in use for water base gravure printing which excels in thermal dimensional stability on printing and, simultaneously, excels in printability and printing effects under high temperature and high-speed conditions, and can obtain good printed films. SOLUTION: The biaxially stretched polypropylene film suited in use for water base gravure printing has an elongation in the lengthwise direction at 100°C of≤4%. Furthermore, this film preferably has an initial modulus in the lengthwise direction at 80°C of 400-900 MPa, and the polypropylene constituting the film preferably has an mmmm pentad fraction in<SP>13</SP>C-NMR of 96-97.7.
