PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head capable of performing gradation recording with a very large dynamic range through a simple arrangement of heating resistors and thereby capable of recording a high quality image at an appropriate ejection velocity for any ejection volume while preventing stagger and mist. SOLUTION: Ejection openings 101a, 101b and 101c of large, middle and small sizes are made in an orifice plate 102 oppositely to heating resistors 106. The ejection openings are arranged in a row along a liquid channel 109 and the size decreases as the ejection openings recede from the edge 107 of an ink supply opening. The heating resistor 106 exposed as a bubbling region is elongated in the arranging direction of the ejection openings and the width thereof decreases gradually as the heating resistors 106 recede from the edge 107 of the ink supply opening. It is wide at a part facing the ejection opening 101a having the largest opening area and narrow at a part facing the ejection opening 101c having the smallest opening. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
