PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve the problem that a concentrated management server inhibits scalability of a system as bottleneck accompanying an increase in the number of network storages. SOLUTION: After a READDIR request is received from a client by 301, the READDIR request received by 302 is transferred to each network storage, the READDIR response is received from each network storage by 303, the READDIR responses are combined received by 304 from each of the network storage, and the READDIR response combined by 305 is transmitted to the client. Thus, without using a private network storage, a centralized control server, and a dispersed directory, network storage virtualization can be realized by processing a general purpose network storage and a network storage access protocol.
