PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medicine inhibiting the secretion of a chloride ion in human beings or other animals. SOLUTION: The chloride ion secretion inhibitor inhibiting the secretion of the chloride ion comprises 4-methoxyphenol, 4,5-dimethylresorcinol or a mixture thereof. The inhibition of the secretion of an electrolyte containing the chloride ion, such as the inhibition of secretion of acid in the stomach, the inhibition of secretion of pancreatic juice, the inhibition of perspiration (including inhibition of tragomaschalia), the inhibition of GABA-agonistic neural transmission, the inhibition of secretion of nasal mucus, the inhibition of pollakiuria and reduction of a symptom of causing a large amount of tear and saliva is achieved in the human beings and other animals based on the chloride ion secretion inhibiting activities by using the chlorine ion secretion inhibitor.
