PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that maximum thrust cannot be increased due to the magnetic saturation of a core, in a linear drive. SOLUTION: This linear drive includes a primary side 10 having a plurality of cores 11 formed out of a magnetic substance and a first winding 12 wound around the core 11, a plurality of pole teeth 13a, 13b provided on the core 11, and a secondary side 20 provided at the plurality of pole teeth 13a, 13b at prescribed clearances. A secondary winding 15 is wound at a position nearer to the ends of the plurality of pole teeth 13a, 13b than the first winding 12. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
