PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the degradation in the quality of images displayed on a screen by assuring the good adhesion properties and flatness of planar members. SOLUTION: The supporting structure for screen is provided with first and second supporting means 16 and 20 which respectively support the opposing edges of the screen 11 formed by arranging the planar members 12 and 13 in a laminar form and rotating rollers 14 and 15 which are pressed to at least one outside surface of the screen in the direction where their axial direction aligns to the edges. The at least one supporting means comprise a plurality of tension imparting means 21 and 22 for imparting tension to the screen in a direction where the rotating rollers rotate by each of the respective planar members of the screen.
