PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely stop when foreign matter is caught into a step eliminator or an interference occurs thereon irrespective of the foreign matter inclusion position, operating state, and atmospheric temperature. SOLUTION: This step eliminator 4 is so formed that a table 3 is liftable by a motor 2 relative to a base 1. The step eliminator comprises a detection means 6 detecting the load variation of the motor 2 and a drivingly control part 5 stopping the motor 2 when the detection output of the detection means comes out of a specified reference width.
