PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration generating device advantageous to miniaturization owing to a simple constitution and structure, and which gives a large vibration power and is preferably applied to a portable appliance such as a cell phone. SOLUTION: A cylindrical body 4 is coaxially mounted with a permanent magnet 2 and bobbin 30 wound by a coil 3 and the permanent magnet 2 is movably arranged in a stroke space S to become a moving element m. The moving element m is connected to a sealing plate 40 by a pulling spring 6 and returned to an initial position close to the coil 3 by the enforcement of the coil to maintain the state of the initial position. Impact action is performed by intermittently energizing to the coil 3 in the one side polarity. When energized repulsive force is operated in a magnetic field B3, B2 and moving element m is vibrated by collision of a colliding plate 5 of the end of a stroke. When not energized the repulsive force in the magnetic field is disappeared to position the moving element m at the initial position. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
