PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monochrome liquid crystal type image display device which responds to both of a monochrome video board used exclusively for medical diagnosis and a general-purpose color video board and thus has high multiplicity of uses and to provide an image reading report preparing apparatus which can perform soft copying without vanishment of color information on color marking even when the marking is made on the screen of a monochrome monitor. SOLUTION: The monochrome liquid crystal type image display device is equipped with a digital interface through which the device of high definition receives image data transmitted digitally from the medical monochrome video board or the general-purpose color video board 12a. By the connection of the monochrome liquid crystal type image display device with the general-purpose color video board 12a, the image data can be transmitted and displayed without vanishment of the color information.
