<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent distribution of counterfeit paper money and sheets to prevent damages inflicted on an individual by enabling a user who does not know a technical method of discrimination to easily discriminate the authenticity of paper money of various kinds regardless of time. <P>SOLUTION: A portable terminal 1a with a function to discriminate the authenticity of the paper money is equipped with an ultraviolet rays irradiating means for irradiating the ultraviolet rays and a communication means 11a for notifying a user of the method of discriminating the authenticity of the paper money by irradiating with the ultraviolet rays irradiating means.
