<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cap-opening/closing structure, in which a locking mechanism is not restricted and which is suitable for ink-jet printers. <P>SOLUTION: In a typical configuration of this cap opening/closing structure, a cap 9 provided with a click section is turnably attached to an enclosure, provided with a locking member 16 through hinge members. The click section of the cap 9 can be engaged with the locking member 16 of the enclosure. The cap 9 is also provided with a spring, which hops up the cap 9 on one side of the engaged section opposite to hinge sections, and the enclosure is also provided with a detecting means 15 which detects the opened/closed state of the cap 9 on the same side of the engaged section opposite to the hinge sections.
