PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method of interpolating a picture point on the intermediate line of a field in the sequence of fields where lines are combined. SOLUTION: First, second, and third image information values (L0, L1, L2) are mixed to multiply the first image information value (L0) by a first weighting coefficient (K0), the second information value (L1) by a second weighting coefficient (K1), and the third image information value (L2) by a third weighting coefficient (K2) respectively, and the weighted image information values are added to calculate the image information value (Lx) of a picture point (Px) of the intermediate line.
