PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit a user to surely recognize presence or absence of fault occurrence in a storage device of a remote image output device in the middle of a remote mode selection. SOLUTION: A local machine 200 is provided with a scanner 2070 and a printer 2095, and it can select a remote mode where image data inputted from the scanner 2070 is transferred to a printer 2095 or the storage device of a communicable remote machine 220, and similar image data can outputted in parallel by a printer 2295 of the remote machine 220 and the printer 2095. While the remote mode is selected, a fault occurred state in the storage device, which is informed from the remote machine 220, is recognized.
