PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasticizer for a resin which is excellent in migration resistance in a resin molded article and in retention of transparency of a resin to which the plasticizer is applied. SOLUTION: The plasticizer is a diester (A) which is prepared from (a1) a cyclic monocarboxylic acid having a substituent on the ring or its ester-forming derivative and (a2) a polyoxyalkylenediol and has a SP value (SP<SB>A</SB>) of 8-12 and an absolute value ¾SP<SB>A</SB>-SP<SB>B</SB>¾ of the difference between the SP<SB>A</SB>value and the SP value (SP<SB>B</SB>) of a resin (B) of 0-3.5.
