PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a constant electric power energization heating method of a metal plate, accurately heating the metal plate to a target temperature within a target period of time. SOLUTION: The specific heat C of the metal plate is approximated as a function of a temperature T that is used to obtain a relational expression between electric power P supplied to the metal plate and the temperature increase rate of the metal plate due to a power supply. From the relational expression, a constant electric power value necessary for heating the metal plate to a target temperature within a target period of time is obtained. Resulting constant electric power is supplied to the metal plate. In an embodiment, for example, the metal plate can be heated to 1,000°C within three seconds. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
