PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible film that realizes simplification of mechanical design as well as reduction in the number of components and that enhances reliability in connecting a liquid crystal display (LCD), in the flexible film connecting between an LCD panel and a liquid crystal driving circuit board. SOLUTION: The invention includes an LCD panel 1 composed of a liquid crystal material 8 held between two opposing glass substrates 6, 7, a circuit board 2 for driving the LCD panel 1, and a flexible film 3 for connecting a plurality of electrode terminals installed on the LCD panel 1 to those installed on the circuit board. When folded to fix the circuit board 2 in the rear of the LCD panel 1, the flexible film 3 is designed to have a constricted shape in which the width B of the folded section is smaller than the width A of the connected section. This structure relaxes a stress applied to the connected section, enabling high reliability to be realized in the connection. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
