PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a geared transmission device for an automatic transmission including a complex planet gear train, in which the construction is made compact and at least forward six ranges and one reversing range are made selectable. SOLUTION: The geared transmission device is structured so that a decelerative epicyclic gearing set G1, a single pinion type epicyclic gearing set G2, a double sun gear type epicyclic gearing set G3 are installed in line from the side of the input shaft 1, and it is possible to establish a coaxial arrangement of the input shaft 1 and an output gear 2 from the mentioned gearing sets, clutches C1-C3, and brakes B1 and B2 and to accomplish the forward six ranges including an O/D shift range, wherein an input member for the decelerative rotation from the decelerative epicyclic gearing set G1 consists of a ring gear S2, and the clutches C1 and C2 to engage and disengage the decelerative rotation are located in such an arrangement that the clutch C1 and the brake B2 overlap at least partially in the axial direction on the outside in the radial direction of the clutches C1 and C2 while the brakes B1 and B2 are located in such an arrangement that the clutch C2 and the brake B1 overlap at least partially in the axial direction.
