PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which the problem that, in the production of a gas diffusion electrode, as for a means of adding a coagulant to a dispersion liquid for an electrode having a low concentration and coagulating the same, the quantity of the coagulant to be added is large, and quantity to be treated becomes considerable, is solved, and a highly concentrated dispersion liquid is obtained only by applying a simple operation to the dispersion liquid. SOLUTION: Material fine particles for the gas diffusion electrode are dispersed into an aqueous solution comprising a polyoxyethylene type nonionic surfactant, and moisture is evaporated from the surface of the dispersion liquid in a state where the temperature of the dispersion liquid is held to the one higher than the cloud point of the surfactant. The gas diffusion electrode can be produced with the concentrated dispersion liquid as a coating liquid. Further, an electrode material powder can be produced therefrom. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
