PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the time measurement processing of a controller with a built-in real time OS (operation system) and to improve the processability during time up waiting. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a control task TPk in which time data for time measurement is set on a counter, and after this setting, a target information (flag ON/mailbox address for destination of information) is formed, and after information of completion of time measurement of time data is received, a specified task is executed, and a time management task RTk in which, when the index information exists, time measurement by a counter is performed by timer interruption, and the control task is informed by a mail or an ivent flag that the time measurement has completed and uses a controller 131P with the built-in real time OS a process controller for the image data flow and the control task turns off the index information when informed of the completion of the time measurement. The time data count the number of timer cutting-in, and the time management measures the number of the timer cutting-in only when there exists the index information and the remaining measured value is≥1.
