PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an amusing game by setting a variable display area which can be switched into a hidden state and a disclosed state. SOLUTION: The game machine which is provided with a control means 50 for performing a variable display game in which a plurality of patterns are variably displayed in the variable display area of a display device 4 to impart a prescribed game value to the player depending on the result of the variable display game, is provided with a hiding/disclosing means 7 which can switch a pattern positioned in the prescribed area of the variable display area into the hidden state and the disclosed state and a switch control means 50 capable of switch-controlling a state generated by the means 7 by allowing a prescribed condition to be established.
