PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-vehicle LAN system which automatically displays an output video image on an image monitor located in front of its own seat without requiring a user to perform complicated setting operations, when a video apparatus is connected to a connector for LAN connection. SOLUTION: A connector 2a in compliance with the standards of the IEEE 1394 serial bus is provided in the vicinity of a driver's seat 2, connectors 3a, 4a, 5a in compliance with the similar standards are respectively provided in an assistant's seat 3, a rear right seat 4, and a rear left seat 5, and the connectors are interconnected by a bus. Further, a driver's seat monitor 2b, an assistant's seat monitor 3b, a rear (right) monitor 4b, and a rear (left) monitor 5b are equipped in front of the respective seats. Various sorts of apparatuses can be respectively connected to the connectors 2a, 3a, 4a, 5a, and a DVD reproducing apparatus 6 is connected to the connector 3a at the assistant's seat 3. Apparatuses can optionally be connected to the connectors 2a, 4a, 5a. Which connector an apparatus is connected to is detected and the connection to display an output image on an image monitor provided in pairs with the detected connector is automatically established.
