PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent composition suitable for the impregnation into a porous material; and a porous material containing the same. SOLUTION: The detergent composition, to be impregnated into and retained by a porous material, contains at least one surfactant selected from the group consisting of anionic surfactants and nonionic surfactants, has a viscosity at 80°C of 90 mPa s or lower, is solid at normal temperature, and becomes liquid at about 80°C.
