PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain characteristics excellent in corrosion resistance as for an aluminum alloy brazing sheet for a heat exchanger. SOLUTION: The aluminum alloy brazing sheet is obtained by cladding an aluminum alloy brazing filler metal on one side of a core material consisting of an aluminum alloy, and cladding a sacrificial anode material on the other side. The sacrificial anode material consists of an aluminum alloy comprising elements forming an intermetallic compound nobler than the matrix of the sacrificial anode material, and the balance Al with inevitable impurities. The intermetallic compound having a particle diameter (the diameter of the equivalent circle) of 0.5 to 0.9μm is allowed to exist by 2×10<SP>3</SP>to 2×10<SP>5</SP>pieces per mm<SP>2</SP>in the matrix.
