PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize a low-cost communication method such as electronic mails, etc. provided for a portable telephone terminal to contribute to the reduction of the charge for communications from a portable telephone terminal to a fixed telephone terminal and improve the convenience of communication services for portable users. SOLUTION: The communication system is composed of a gateway apparatus 20, a communication connection apparatus 30 and a voice portal unit 40. The portal unit 40 has a function for showing the contents of communication services provided by the unit 40 for a portable telephone terminal 11, using voice signals, thereby making it select a specified communication service. The unit 40 has a function for registering specified information or communicably connecting the portable telephone terminal 11 to fixed telephone terminals 50, 501according to the communication service selected by the terminal 11.
