PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner capable of easily cleaning a recessed part onto which a dust collecting container is fitted and mounted. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner 10 is equipped with: a cleaner body 11 having separable upper and lower cases 21, 22 and provided with an upward opened recessed part 60, on which the container is mounted; the dust collecting container 40 attachably/detachably fit in and mounted on the recessed part 60; and an electric blower 23 incorporated into the cleaner body 11 and applying suction negative pressure to the dust collecting container 40.
