A method and compositions for inducing the production of fibrous tissue can be used to treat urinary incontinence or in the creation of cosmetic enhancemen ts such as wrinkle reduction or removal or to treat burn victims by facilitatin g tissue growth in conjunction with skin grafting. The method includes injecti ng an effective amount of a pure hydrocarbon petroleum jelly composition into a predetermined location in a mammalian subject.
