TRANSPORT DEVICE FOR TAPE SHAPED OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium tape transport in which a running guide means having a guide surface section opposing to a running tape shaped optical recording medium is provided and a region where incident location of light beams with respect to the medium is constantly maintained is made relatively wide and stably maintained.

SOLUTION: The transport device for a tape shaped optical recording medium is provided with: a supply reel 41 and a take-up reel 42 which conduct supply and taking up operations of an optical tape 40; a friction capstan 43 which causes the tape 40 to run from the reel 41 to the reel 42; and a running guide section 46 which guides the tape 40 that runs between the reels 41 and 42. The running guide section 46 has a flat surface shaped section on which a guide surface section is formed opposing to the tape 40, so that the tape 40 runs along the flat surface shaped section.
