<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition for inkjet recording having excellent dispersibility, dispersion stability, gas resistance, light resistance and color-developing property. <P>SOLUTION: The ink composition for inkjet recording at least contains water, surface-modified ultrafine organic pigment particles and a superpenetrant. The surface-modified ultrafine organic pigment particle is produced by a combination of vacuum deposition and surface treatment and has an average particle diameter of ≤50 nm. The surface-modified ultrafine organic pigment particle can be produced by evaporating an organic pigment in a vacuum vessel containing a small amount of an inert gas introduced into the vessel, collecting the produced ultrafine particles of the organic pigment on a substrate and subjecting the organic pigment on the substrate to discharge plasma treatment in the presence of a reactive gas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
