<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method of an intermittent redox flow battery, capable of improving the power loss of a pump circulating the electrolytic solution and a shunt current loss. <P>SOLUTION: For the driving method of an intermittent redox flow battery, capable of circulating the electrolytic solution stored in a tank through a cell, the electrolyte liquid is stored in a cell stack without circulating at ordinary time, and float charging is carried out only by the electrolytic solution in the cell stack, and discharging is carried out by the cell stack in an emergency like instantaneous voltage drop or instantaneous power break down.
