PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for generating pressure using a booster, especially a control method for inspecting compressive strength of a pipe and allowing a simple and inexpensive constitution and long service life.

SOLUTION: One operation system is formed by integrating boosters D1 and D2 having distance measuring devices W1 and W2 and control valves 18 and 19 on the upstream side with a common control unit 23. A first booster D1 or D2 approaches the terminal position, and when the speed is decreased, simultaneously a next booster is operated.
