PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high temperature sodium secondary battery device capable of both achieving a low cost and securing safety. SOLUTION: An outer container 1 opened around a lower surface is engaged with an inner container 2 opened around an upper surface in which high temperature sodium secondary batteries 4 are contained in such a way as to cover it. A heat insulating material 3 having a water absorbing function is provided in a space formed between the inner container 2 and the outer container 1 to cover the inner container 2. At an upper surface opening of the inner container 2, a filler 11 mixed with an absorbing material is provided to collect gas generated when the high temperature sodium secondary batteries 4 are broken.
