PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain reduction of recording time by eliminating the useless recording operation of the information in an optical disk device having a plurality of beams. SOLUTION: The user information 54A, in which pointers are set by the execution of a pointer set program 58 according to a CPU 50, is separated by the pointers PF set for every phase and supplied to an encoder 38. In the encoder 38, the encode process based on the format of the optical disk is carried out for every block unit of the input information. Data after the process are separated by referring to the beam allocation pointers PB0, PB1, PB2 which are set for every beam. Encode data for every beam are inputted to a recording circuit 40 in parallel. When the recording signal is outputted for every beam in accordance with the inputted encode data, a laser array is emitted and the user information 54A is recorded on the disk.
