The cyclone separator has a cylindrical base body (4) with gas inlet (5) which is closed on one side (14) by a cover (13) having a gas outlet (6). The base body and cover are formed in one piece to make up the upper housing part (2). The cyclone separator has an oil outlet (7) formed on a lower conically tapering housing part (3) which can be formed as a separate component part. The two housing parts are welded or snap-fitted together.
