PURPOSE: An ENUM(tEelephone NUmber Mapping) service system and a method for operating the same are provided to present ENUM DNS(Domain Name System) layer structures, the communication method between an ENUM client and a DNS, and ENUM service registration for a phone page, a homepage in a mobile Internet, in order to extend the efficiency and common use of searching. CONSTITUTION: ENUM, an advanced integrated number identification system, is a protocol to convert phone numbers into a plurality of URIs(Uniform Resource Identifiers) on the basis of a DNS. An ENUM service system comprises ENUM DNS layers 0, 1, and 2 that form an authorized system in the structure of a tree. ENUM DNS layer 1, forming an authorized layer with layer 0, creates a country code zone file and stores layer-2 location information for phone numbers in the file. Layer 2 stores NAPTR(Naming Authority Pointer)-type ENUM service information to execute a service information return for an ENUM number query.
