PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable satisfactory cleaning by preventing chatter from occurring in a contact nip between a cleaning blade and a transfer material conveyance belt or an intermediate transfer body, and preventing toner from passing through part of the contact nip. SOLUTION: The cleaning blade 21 of a belt cleaner 20 has a surface layer 21a containing 10wt% of fluorinated carbon, as lubricative inorganic fine particles, with respect to urethane rubber forming the cleaning blade 21. In addition, trituration toner of an irregular shape with an average particle diameter of 4.5μm is used as toner. Thus, chatter is prevented from occurring in the contact nip between the cleaning blade 21 and the transfer material conveyance belt 4. Also, toner is prevented from passing through part of the contact nip. Accordingly, satisfactory cleaning is enabled. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
