PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To classify and detect a random error caused in a bit unit and a burst error caused in a whole data packet unit in communication data, and to perform appropriate handling in response to the type of the error. SOLUTION: Communication equipment 1 transmits plural pieces of test communication data different in packet lengths of data packets (S12). Communication equipment 2 detects a packet loss rate in received test communication data (S22). Coefficients in respective degrees in a polynomial in n-th degree packet length L are obtained by the n-th degree polynomial approximation by using the detected packet loss rate, and P<SB>B</SB>and P<SB>R</SB>are calculated based on a prescribed relational formula of the coefficients and occurrence rates P<SB>B</SB>and P<SB>R</SB>of the burst error and the random error (S23). Signal strength and preamble length being modulation parameters of communication data are changed in response to the calculated values of P<SB>B</SB>and P<SB>R</SB>(S24 to 31 and S13 to S15).
