PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device with plastics substrates, which brings about no deformation/distortion and in which no cell gap unevenness is generated in sticking both substrates to each other. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the liquid crystal display device which comprises placing two sheets of the substrates opposite to each other with a sealant sandwiched in between and sticking them to each other so as to form a space to seal in a liquid crystal, a step to pressure weld one substrate out of the two sheets of the substrates to a support substrate to support the one substrate in vacuum, a step to attach them to each other with pressure by exposing them to the atmosphere while keeping the pressure welded state and a treatment to superimpose the one substrate attached with pressure and the other substrate on each other with the sealant sandwiched in between and to cure the sealant are carried out.
