<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve color development properties in a diazo recording material with a heat-sensitive recording layer containing a diazonium salt compound and a coupler. <P>SOLUTION: The diazo recording material has a heat-sensitive recording layer containing the diazonium salt compound represented by formula (1) encapsulated in a microcapsule and the coupler which develops a color through a chemical reaction with the diazonium salt compound, formed on a support. The microcapsule contains an oil with a refractive index of less than 1.50.
