<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device allowing an operator to recognize on a screen the kind of a failure resulting from operation on a distributed control system made integrally manageable the whole of a plant. <P>SOLUTION: The display device for displaying event data showing if a predetermined phenomenon has occurred in the plant is provided with a viewer means for displaying on the same screen a list of historical messages created by the distributed control system controlling operation of the plant and a list of event data.
