PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To intend improvement of drivability of a steering wheel of a cable type steering device and prevention of reduction of steering feeling. SOLUTION: The direction of operating cables 15, 16 exiting from a driving pulley casing 12 is substantially perpendicular relative to the axis line L of the steering wheel 11. The direction of the operating cable 15, 16 exiting from a driven pulley casing 14 is substantially parallel relative to a plane passing the axis line L of steering wheel 11 and is directed to a steering wheel 11 side. In this way, the driving posture of a driver restricted by the direction of the steering wheel 11 is improved, and the drivability is improved, and it becomes possible to shorten the length of the operating cable to eliminate a reduction in the torsional rigidity of the steering wheel 11, and it becomes possible to improve the drivability of the steering wheel 11 and to prevent the reduction of the steering feeling.
