PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply estimate thermal degradation of a plant scale at the time of the heating operation with a small scale experiment by compulsorily setting temperatures of a liquid substance contained in a container and a heating medium as high as the plant scale and following up the content of the content; to suppress thermal degradation at the time of heat-treatment within an acceptable limit based on the findings. SOLUTION: In the examination method for thermal degradation, temperature of a liquid substance is adjusted by indirectly heating the lower part of a container with a heating medium and indirectly cooling the upper part of the container with a refrigerant while agitating the liquid substance in the container to generate a temperature difference between the liquid substance and the heating medium. It is a temperature difference between the liquid substance and the heating media obtained by the examination method for thermal degradation. It is a suppression method for thermal degradation heated within the limits of the temperature difference at which permissible thermal degradation is generated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
