PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil supply device having superior pivot machinability even when the supply amount of a lubricating oil is set to be smaller. SOLUTION: An oil supply passage 22 for a pivot 20 consists of a vertical hole 23 opening to a supporting face 21, a lateral hole 24 communicating with the vertical hole 23 and opening to a position asymmetrical to a head side oil passage 18 on the outer periphery of the pivot 20, and a supply groove 26 formed in the outer periphery of the pivot 20 in communication with the opening of the lateral hole 24 and the head side oil passage 18. The supply amount of the lubricating oil can be selectively set by changing the cross section of the supply groove 26. The supply groove 26 is formed by cutting the pivot 20 at its outer periphery instead of piercing the pivot 20 at its inside, resulting in good machinability even when the supply amount of the lubricating oil is set to be smaller by reducing the cross section of the supply groove 26.
