PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) protease inhibitor in a biological sample. SOLUTION: The method for determining the HIV protease inhibitor in a biological sampler comprises forming an assay mixture by mixing an HIV protease, a spectroscopic substrate of the HIV protease and a biological sample suspected to contain the HIV protease inhibitor. Spectroscopic properties of the assay mixture is measured and related to an HIV protease inhibitor concentration in the biological sample. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
