Method for sealing joints in plasterboard surfaces using press fit elastic sealing strips inserted into the gaps and secured by ratchet grips

A method for sealing the gaps between plasterboard panels without requiring plaster uses elastic sealing strips (3) pushed into the gaps and retained by ratchet grip flanges (33) on the strip. The strip has a shallow head (32) which is covered by the final plaster layer. The sealing strip can be in two interlocking sections, with one section clamped above the plasterboard. The plasterboard edge can be shaped to provide a recessed fitting for the head of the sealing strip.
