<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support for a recording material which can solve problems such as lowered yellow density, lowered whiteness, and fixation failure. <P>SOLUTION: A waterproof resin covering layer is provided on both sides of a paper base. At least a brightening agent and a laminar inorganic compound are contained in a non-photosensitive undercoating in contact with the waterproof resin covering layer. Preferably, the laminar inorganic compound is water-swellable synthetic mica, the brightening agent is soluble in water, and the undercoating contains brightening agent/dyeing agent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
