PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an electrophotographic toner which is high in average electrostatic charge level, is quick in electrostatic charge speed and is hardly affected by temperature and humidity. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the electrophotographic toner obtained by dissolving or dispersing a toner composition consisting of at least resin, a coloring agent in a polymerizable monomer liquid, by emusifying and dispersing the dissolved matter or the dispersion in an aqueous medium where a surfactant is present in the aqueous medium, and by polymerizing the resultant emulsification dispersion is characterized in that another surfactant of the polarity reverse to the polarity of the above mentioned surfactant is added to the dispersion after the emulsification dispersion step.
