PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared transmi filter excellent in productivity with a small number of layers and for cutting a wavelength of 4,000 nm or less. SOLUTION: The infrared transmitting filter 10 is obtained to form a multilayer film alternately laminating a substance layer 12 with a high refractive index consisting of germanium and a substance layer 13 with a low refractive index consisting of a rare earth fluoride such as yttrium fluoride, ytterbium fluoride, neodymium fluorine, and lanthanum fluoride on at least one face of an infrared transmitting substrate 11 such as a silicon substrate and a germanium substrate in this order.
