摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate inter-channel deviation of luminance regardless of change in the environment where a display device is used or in the lapse of time and without giving rise to circuit scale expansion, for example, in a display device having a driving system in which video signals are supplied in parallel to the display electrodes of a plurality of channels of a display element. SOLUTION: The device is equipped with: a photodetecting means 3 for detecting light from a display element 21; a signal supply means 4 for supplying signals of a prescribed level to the display electrode of one channel each of the display element 21; and a compensating means 7 for compensating the inter-channel deviation of luminance on the basis of the detection result of the photodetecting means 3 detected when the signals of a prescribed level are supplied to the display electrode of each channel by the signal supply means 4.
