PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening device which prevents a hook portion of a crescent from colliding with a portion of an outside Shoji, relevant to the hook portion, even if the Shojis are opened from a non-closed state while keeping the crescent in a locking position, to thereby protect the hook portion and the relevant portion of the outside Shoji from being damaged. SOLUTION: The opening device is formed of a frame body 2 arranged in an opening of a building, the Shojis 3a, 3b, and the crescent 4. The frame body 2 consists of a head 2a, a sill 2b, and right and left jambs 2d, 2c. The Shojis 3a, 3b are openably arranged in the frame body 2. The crescent 4 locks the Shojis 3a, 3b in a closed state. The crescent 4 has the rotatable hook portion 11 and a lever portion 12. In order to prevent the collision between the hook portion 11 and the relevant portion 6b of the outer Shoji 3b when the Shoji 3a or 3b is opened from the non-closed state with the crescent 4 in the locking position, the lever portion 12 has an elastic protective member 17 arranged thereon over an area from the hook portion 11 to the tip of the lever portion 12, for colliding with the relevant portion 6d of the outer Shoji 3b.
